When we talk about architecture, everything is light: colour, shape, space, and movement. Light is the undisputed protagonist in the work of the most illustrious architecture and design experts and it is a cut above in the critique and expression of each of its own peculiarities. White is generally identified with “light”, in antithesis to black, which impedes its presence. #Lesson 1 represents a lamp/installation that provides a brief cause for reflection on the essence of light, its presence in the space, its ability to propagate in an infinity of ways. It can represent the archetype of home, meant as solid and indestructible shelter (white Carrara marble), and the comforts of a reassuring living space (olive wood).
The fragmentation process of the outer shell, central issue of the architectural formal research, allows the light to diffuse freely in the surrounding space. The concept is framed in the idea of free movement and configuration of each and every element disentangled from the light source. #Lesson 1 is conceived as an educational game on the subject of light and the interaction with the object becomes a cognitive experience on the propagation of light in space.
